‘Tis the season to stress about what you are going to do for those cute Christmas gifts for every neighbor, friend and random acquaintance!
I find myself scouring pinterest in the wee midnight hours (those are my primary hours of peace – i.e. sanity) in order to rustle up ideas.
Scour no more!
A delectable ‘lil loaf of bread is powerful enough to win over even the most ornery of neighbors.
As I’ve mentioned previously, my sister-in-law, Julie, is a supremely marvelous cook. One evening she made a masterful cranberry cake topped with a heavenly butter sauce that seeped into every single crevice and nook providing an oh-so perfect balance to the tart cranberries.
And ever since the moment that cake touched my tongue I’ve longed to recreate the flavors. …perhaps with a rich cream cheese and a few hits of orange, just cause I love me some orange and cranberry!
But my money is on that warm butter sauce!
If you do make these as gifts, include the butter sauce in a separate cute little container with instructions to warm and pour it over the bread. It’s a special ‘lil breadlet that, apart from being completely adorable, is spin-me-right-round scumptious!!
TIP: Make sure you let the bread come to room temperature before trying to take it out of the pan. And handle it carefully. The bread is so moist and filled with yummy surprises, so take good care of it.
