Better than caramel.
Better than getting a whole cookie chunk in your cookies and cream milkshake.
Better than going to fold the laundry only to realize your husband already has. (YES!!)
Yeah. It’s that good.
Slap it on some buttery shortbread with crunchy, salty toffee? Oooooh mama!
What I consider to be the most important and most crucial part is the SALT.
This dessert could easily turn too sweet if you forget about that salt. My mama always taught me to put a pinch of salt in everything sweet. (Mamas know stuff!)
And I do. In fact, I usually put two pinches in. I JUST CAN’T STOP MYSELF!! I love salty ‘n sweet so much. It’s seriously an addiction. But I’m probably not going to do anything about it…EVER.
Dulce de leche is akin to caramel but with a deeper, developed flavor and thick rich unctuousness. I catch myself eating spoonfuls every time I use dulce de leche.
Check out that thick layer of ooey, creamy goodness.
These were gone in a day and I’m already drooling to make some more.
